Key Scottish Environment Statistics 2009

Scotland's Chief Statistician today published Key Scottish Environment Statistics 2009.

This is the ninth edition of the publication that provides key data sets on the state of the environment in Scotland, with an emphasis on the trends over time.

The charts and data on public attitudes to the environment, global atmosphere, air quality, water, marine, radioactivity, waste, land and biodiversity are supplemented by text providing brief background information on environmental impacts and relevant legislation.

This publication includes previously published statistics and figures produced by other organisations some of which are not official statistics. They have been available on request from those organisations. The publication is now available as a web only publication.

Official statistics are produced by professionally independent statistical staff.
