IPCC statement on next steps following the conclusion of the Mark Duggan inquest

We are working closely with the Duggan family solicitor to arrange an urgent family meeting. IPCC Deputy Chair Rachel Cerfontyne and the IPCC’s Chair Anne Owers hope to meet with the Duggan family in the early part of next week.

Until this important family meeting takes place we do not intend to put any further information into public domain as it is important to the Duggan family that they hear things directly from the IPCC, before seeing things in the media. We are now focusing on next investigative steps, some have been ongoing during the inquest as evidence was coming out and some have been identified as a result of the jury conclusions. We will be sharing these with the family and also asking them to clarify with us the questions they still feel need to be answered.
