Archives in UK and Ireland launch public awareness campaign

Local, national, university, business and specialist archives are holding a range of talks and events, online and in-house, during the week of 16-22 November to highlight the wealth and variety of their archival collections.

The Explore Your Archive campaign encourages the public to visit archives and discover the stories at the heart of their communities and identities.

Campaign ambassadors include Lord Paddy Ashdown, Antony Beevor, Dr Tristram Hunt MP, and Professor Lisa Jardine, who said: 'If you've never been to an archive, get down there now. Because I can tell you from a lifetime of working in them - you will experience pleasures and thrills like you've never known.'
