Ordnance Survey awards new contracts for supply and maintenance of geospatial data

Ordnance Survey has awarded a new 4-year Framework Agreement for the Supply and Maintenance of Geospatial Data, which replaces previous data collection contracts.

The Framework Agreement will run from April 2011 to March 2015 and sees Ordnance Survey developing its external supplier base for the supply and maintenance of topography, imagery and height data and services, which are used to maintain the currency, accuracy and information content of its core databases.

The framework agreement is divided into three lots and has been awarded to the following companies;

Lot 1: Remotely Sensed Data Acquisition: Blom Aerofilms Limited, COWI A/S and Getmapping Limited.

Lot 2: Imagery data management and processing: Infoterra Limited.

Lot 3: Capture and maintenance of geospatial data content: Blom Aerofilms Limited; COWI A/S, Infotech Enterprises Europe Limited and Photarc Surveys Limited.

Neil Ackroyd, Ordnance Survey Director of Data Collection and Management, said "I am very pleased to be announcing our production partnerships with the successful bidders in this strategically important contract.

"In difficult economic times the new Integrated Data Capture contract reaffirms Ordnance Surveys commitment to working with the broader geospatial community, providing opportunities for both the larger international organisations as well as British based SME's.”
