Race Online 2012 launches Manifesto for a Networked Nation
The Manifesto launched today by UK Digital Champion Martha Lane Fox and Race Online 2012 tells us that "there are 10 million adults in the UK who have never used the internet: over a fifth of the population and the size of our 5 biggest cities combined. Four million of those are among the most disadvantaged: 39% are over 65, 38% are unemployed and 19% are families with children."
The manifesto also states that Race Online 2012's ambition is that by the end of this Parliament: everyone of working age should be online and no one should retire without web skills.
