Lifelong Learning UK appoint Development Officer for CLD Upskilling Programme in Scotland

Bob Waddell has been appointed as a Development Officer for the Community Learning and Development (CLD) Upskilling Programme which Lifelong Learning UK Scotland is delivering on behalf on the Scottish Government.  Funding has been allocated to ensure the appropriate training resources and accredited courses are in place for present and future generations of CLD staff. Grants have been allocated to CLD Partnerships across Scotland.  The grants are being used by the partnerships to produce their local workforce development strategies and widen Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities.  Partnerships covering 29 of the 32 local authority areas have already agreed plans for activity up to the end of March 2010 with Lifelong Learning UK.

Bob will support CLD Partnerships in identifying and commissioning appropriate training, and enabling CLD practitioners to:

  • Understand the community / environment in which they work
  • Build and maintain relationships with individuals and groups
  • Provide learning and development opportunities in a range of contexts
  • Facilitate and promote community empowerment
  • Plan, organise and manage resources
  • Develop and support collaborative working

For further information about this project please contact the Programme Manager, Moira Stewart moirastewart@lluk.org or 0131 221 7912.
