Citi extends support of Enterprise Programme

Three senior Citi executives ran an Enterprise workshop for young entrepreneurs, helping Prince's Trust young people fulfil their dreams.

Marc Luet, CEO of Consumer for Europe, Middle East and Africa at Citi, said, “It was a pleasure to step out of our daily responsibilities to work with some creative young entrepreneurs. Their energy and enthusiasm was inspiring, and we were honoured to share our thoughts and ideas on building and expanding a business.”

Young entrepreneur, Zoe McLean, also commented, “This was an absolutely fantastic session - really thought provoking and I’m going to put into practice all the learning from today.”

This event was part of the wider partnership between The Prince’s Trust and Citi, which, through the Citi Foundation, has supported The Prince’s Trust Enterprise programme since 2002, helping over 400 young people to fulfil their entrepreneurial dreams.

This year The Trust was also delighted that Citi’s offices in Northern Ireland chose to support their local Prince’s Trust Enterprise programme, helping even more people across the UK.

But it is not just the generous financial support of the Citi Foundation that makes this partnership so special. Since September 2009, hundreds of participants have benefited from Citi employees being involved directly with the work of The Prince’s Trust, from volunteering to help with CV and interview skills, to mentoring individuals on a more long-term basis who have set up their own business.

The Trust has also been delighted that, for the past two years, Citi’s graduates have embraced the partnership wholeheartedly, taking on a ‘Market Traders’ challenge which sees them setting up their own market stalls and experiencing the obstacles that young entrepreneurs face, all the while raising much needed funds for The Prince’s Trust.
