Review of philanthropic support for higher education

HEFCE invites responses to a consultation about philanthropic support and fundraising in UK higher education.

The deadline for consultation responses is 7 June 2012.

The consultation forms part of a wider review of philanthropy and fundraising in UK higher education, designed to assess the current state of practice in this area.

The review, chaired by Professor Shirley Pearce, Vice‑Chancellor of Loughborough University, will address the next decade’s challenges in increasing voluntary giving to higher education. Fundraising consultancy, More Partnership, has been commissioned by HEFCE to support the process and run the consultation.

The review will make recommendations for Government, for universities and for donors into the status of philanthropy in UK HE, and the challenges for the next decade.

Consultation responses are welcome from the full range of donors, academics, volunteers, university administrators, governors, members of council, alumni, and staff in development and alumni relations offices.
