Departmental Business Plans published

An updated assessment of when the Government will implement its commitments.

The Government has today published updated business plans for each government department with full details of changes made to the plans since they were first published in November 2010.

The 2011 business plans reflect an updated assessment of when the Government will implement its commitments set out in the Programme for Government.

They also now include actions on growth and social mobility and some minor presentation changes, including incorporating milestones into the main section of the business plans. They also include data such as financial information, Structural Reform Plans and department priorities.

The DCMS Business Plan sets out in detail how we will boost economic growth, equip the country for future success and transform the way we deliver culture, media, sport and tourism. Transparency will be at the centre of everything we do. We want to provide the public with useful information so they can judge our performance for themselves. We have developed a range of indicators (XLS 26kb) to help the public judge our success and value for money.

Departments will continue to provide progress updates on their Structural Reform Plans, which are part of the business plans to ensure anyone can check that departments are meeting their commitments on a monthly basis.
