CBI welcomes Government road map for future public service contracts

The CBI commented on the Government’s announcement of a five-year pipeline of public sector contracts worth nearly £79 billion.

Jim Bligh, CBI Head of Public Services, said:

“Many companies are ready to invest in new services and technologies so this publication of Government plans should give them the confidence to go ahead, which will help improve public service performance.

“What we need to see now is a broader dialogue between the Government and providers to encourage further innovation in public service delivery, to meet the twin challenge of reduced budgets and increasing demand.”
