Advice issued on Secretary of State's statement on student support and numbers

Professor David Eastwood, Chief Executive of HEFCE, has issued advice to universities and colleges on the implications of the recent parliamentary statement on student support by John Denham, Secretary of State for Innovation, Universities and Skills.

The advice also takes account of the Secretary of State's letter to the Chair of HEFCE, Tim Melville-Ross about action he would like the Funding Council to take in relation to allocating 10,000 additional student numbers for 2009-10.
