£919,000 for National Grid for Learning Cymru

On the day the Education Minister received the final report from the Digital Classroom Task and Finish Group, Leighton Andrews has also announced nearly £1 million for the National Grid for Learning Cymru (NGfL).

The NGfL provides a library of interactive resources for teachers and learners at all levels.

The additional funding announced yesterday will keep the resources live while the Welsh Government develops its new Learning Wales online repository for learning materials and a new all-Wales learning platform later in the year.

The Minister said:

“I want Wales to take a lead on digital inclusion and digital learning. Central to that is making information for learners and teachers available from one online source.

“This funding I’ve announced today will allow teachers and learners to continue to access interactive materials from NGfL until our new repository comes online.”
