Key Scottish Environment Statistics 2013

A National Statistics Publication for Scotland

Scotland's Chief Statistician today published Key Scottish Environment Statistics 2013.

This is the thirteenth edition of the publication that provides key datasets on the state of the environment in Scotland, with an emphasis on trends over time.

The charts on public attitudes to the environment, global atmosphere, air quality, water, marine, radioactivity, waste, land, conservation and biodiversity are supplemented by text providing brief background information on environmental impacts and relevant legislation, and a separate spreadsheet with the full datasets. There is also a brief one page summary commentating on the main message of the statistics.

This publication includes previously published statistics and figures produced by other organisations, some of which are not official statistics. The publication is only available as a web publication.

National Statistics are produced to professional standards set out in the Code of Practice for Official Statistics. They undergo regular quality assurance reviews to ensure that they meet customer needs and are produced free from political interference.
