Call for research on enforcement guidance

The FSA is inviting researchers to tender for the development of guidance on risk-based food sampling for enforcement officers.

To demonstrate levels of compliance with EU and UK food law, local authorities are required to carry out risk-based sampling. In order to improve the consistency of approach across all UK local authorities, there is a need for guidance on the best method for devising a risk-based food and feed sampling programme.

The Agency is commissioning researchers to, first, review the existing risk-based sampling methods and guidance in use, and to then use this evidence to produce guidance for local authorities and port health authorities.

To find out more about the research call, you will need to register as a supplier on the FSA’s electronic tendering system ePPS via the link below. Applications should be submitted by Monday 14 November 2011.
