Talking Science comes to Swindon

WHAT is Talking Science?

Talking Science is a series of popular science lectures that take place around STFC sites across the country. They offer a chance to hear about and discuss some of the hottest areas of science with some of the leading experts. You don’t need to be an expert or even a scientist to come, they’re aimed at everyone.

WHEN is it happening?

The next talk is on Thursday 17 June at 6.00pm

'Fusion star power'' - Dr Kate Lancaster

Dr Lancaster will lead us into the world of fusion, how it was responsible for life on earth and how scientists plan to harness the incredible power of the stars as a future energy source here on earth.

WHERE are the talks held?

In the Sponsor's lounge at Swindon Town's County Ground.

HOW do I book?

By calling 01793 442 092 or booking online (link opens in a new window).  Attendance is free but places must be booked in advance.

WHAT next?

Why not come to the Swindon SciBar?

SciBars are informal discussions over a pint of beer, glass of wine or a coffee. The SciBar is open to anyone, there are no invitations and the evening is free except for what you spend on drink or food. Air your views or just listen to others, it's your regular pub debate just on a larger scale. The next SciBar is being arranged for the autumn, details will be posted here when available.
