Important changes affecting Land Registry Birkenhead offices from 1 October 2009
From 1 October 2009, Land Registry offices in Birkenhead which currently operate from two sites, will be replaced by a single office to be known as Land Registry, Birkenhead Office. The new office will administer the areas now covered by the Old Market House and Rosebrae Court offices.
This change is reflected in the Land Registration (Proper Office) Order 2009 which was laid today, 11 June, and comes into force on 1 October 2009. The new office will operate from the existing premises at Rosebrae Court.
All paper applications and correspondence to be received after 30 September 2009 affecting
Cheshire East
Sefton District
Cheshire West and Chester
St Helens District
Halton
Staffordshire
Hammersmith and Fulham
City of Stoke-on-Trent
Kensington and Chelsea
Warrington
Knowsley District
Wirral District
Liverpool District
should be sent to the new Birkenhead Office at Rosebrae Court, unless a written agreement is in place between the registrar and the applicant as to delivery elsewhere. The customer information centre for Birkenhead Office will be located at Rosebrae Court.

Notes to editors 1. Following a full review of all its offices, Land Registry announced in May 2006 a planned reduction in the number of local offices it operates. The reduction is taking place over a period of years and includes the closure of the Harrow and York offices in 2010. In Birkenhead, Durham, Lytham St Annes, Nottingham and Swansea, Land Registry has two offices where the two offices have merged or will in due course be merged. 2.
