Countdown to the NICE Annual Conference 2012

The NHS landscape has changed dramatically in the last 12 months and adapting to the pace of change remains a huge challenge for those working in health and social care.

The NICE Annual Conference 2012 will focus on the strategic issues surrounding the reforms as well as drilling down to the details of daily challenges.

With over 1,000 delegates expected to attend, this year's conference is set to be the biggest yet, with eight conference streams, over 70 speakers and two days of discussion and networking opportunities.

The stellar line-up of speakers includes: Health secretary Andrew Lansley, Professor Malcolm Grant, Chair of the newly formed NHS Commissioning Board, and Stephen Whitehead, Chief Executive of the ABPI.

Taking place on the 15-16 May at the ICC in Birmingham, the conference will feature:

  • A dedicated implementation stream where you can meet your peers and colleagues from across the UK to discuss and overcome the challenges of translating national guidance into local practice.
  • Extended shared learning, following positive feedback from last year.
  • Facilitated sector-specific networking tables
  • Health Landscape Future Think Tank: Your chance to get involved and shape the debate on what the health system should look like in five years' time
  • A special focus on future trends

Sir Andrew Dillon, NICE Chief Executive, said: “The NICE Annual Conference is the premier event for finding out what leading figures in the NHS and local government think about NICE and its role in the new NHS and social care system.

“Find out about all NICE's programmes in detail, including quality standards, medtech and diagnostic assessment and our work on the new Commissioning Outcomes Framework.”

Keep up to date with all the major talking points throughout the conference with live rolling news stories to be published on the latest news section of the NICE website.
