IISS: Arab upheaval prompts concerns in Israel
The latest Strategic Comment from the International Institute for Strategic Studies highlights how Israelis are concerned about the series of uprisings in Arab countries.
Their worry springs partly from uncertainty about how events will unfold. However, many fear that the outcome for Israel will, on balance, be negative.
Israeli concerns reflect both the proximity to Israel’s borders of the political changes taking place, and the reliance Israel had placed on leaders who have either been toppled or whose rule is in jeopardy.
