New convicted sex offender added to Most Wanted website

The UK's national centre for child protection - the Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP) Centre – is today launching a new appeal for the public to help with locating the 25th convicted and high-risk missing child sex offender, whose details are now on CEOP’s Most Wanted website.

The site – www.ceop.police.uk/wanted - has already seen 22 high risk convicted offenders located since its launch in 2006, including twins Kenneth and Thomas Parker, who were located in France earlier this year.

Dominic Steven Powell, 48, is wanted for failure to notify a change of address and breaching his foreign travel and supervision orders. He is also wanted for questioning in relation to a number of outstanding offences. He is approx 6’0 and is of a large build. He has brown eyes and may wear reading glasses. He is left handed and is known to have had long fingernails in the past. His last known UK address was in Cardiff, but he has links to the Pontypridd area, as well as Coventry and Spain.

As with all subjects featured on CEOP’s Most Wanted website, we stress that the public should not approach if sighted and should inform Crimestoppers or the local police.

This individual is the fourth offender whose details have been posted onto CEOP’s Most Wanted site this year. We have witnessed great successes over the last five years in locating missing child sex offenders and I would like to ask the public to help us again. Someone will have seen or known where this man is and I encourage anyone with any information to come forward and help to locate this high-risk and dangerous individual”.
