Foreign Office Minister discusses Lebanon’s economic challenges with Central Bank Governor

Hugh Robertson congratulates Central Bank Governor Salameh on his achievements in safeguarding Lebanon’s economy.

Following his meeting with the Governor of Lebanon’s Central Bank, Riad Salameh yesterday, the Minister of State for the Middle East Hugh Robertson said:

I congratulated Governor Salameh on his impressive achievements in safeguarding Lebanon’s economy and banking sector amid regional instability. In line with the UK’s strong commitment to Lebanon’s peace and prosperity, we discussed how the UK could support his efforts to create employment and increase economic growth.
