Ofcom awards a new community radio licence in Cheshire

Ofcom yesterday announced the award of a new community radio licence in Cheshire.

A licence has been awarded to The Cat, for a service in Nantwich and Crewe, Cheshire.

Community radio services are provided on a not-for-profit basis focusing on the delivery of specific social benefits to a particular geographical community or a community of interest.

The Cat will provide a community radio service for Nantwich, Crewe and surrounding  villages in Cheshire.

The licence is awarded for a five-year period.
