Deputy Chief Whip in the House of Lords appointment
The Queen approves appointment of Lord Newby OBE.
The Queen has been pleased to approve the appointment of Lord Newby OBE as the Deputy Chief Whip in the House of Lords (Captain of The Queen’s Bodyguard of the Yeomen of the Guard).
He replaces the Rt Hon Lord Shutt of Greetland OBE who is retiring from the Government.
