Find out about closures in advance

While the Tube upgrade programme is under way, all planned engineering work is publicised in advance.

Transport for London (TfL) offers a range of free online travel tools - tfl.gov.uk/traveltools - help passengers plan their journeys.

Planned works calendar - Find out about planned Tube line and station closures over the next six months at tfl.gov.uk/tup

Email updates - Subscribe to a free weekly email to find out about weekend closures that may affect you.

Go to tfl.gov.uk/livetravelnews to sign up.

Metro newspaper - Check the MetroTravel page every Friday for weekend closure information.

Weekly posters - Updates are available at Tube stations (and National Rail stations in the South East).

Travel information telephone line - Call 0843 222 1234 (24-hour) or customer services on 0845 330 9880 (8:00-20:00, seven days a week).

Journey-planning tools

Widgets - Add TfL's tools to your website, blog or iGoogle homepage with one click.

Get maps, use Journey Planner, and see minute-by-minute Tube updates.

You can also copy the code and embed it in your website.

Mobile travel alerts - Get free personalised text alerts warning you of delays.

Go to tfl.gov.uk/traveltools to sign up.

Live travel news - Get regular updates on all TfL services at tfl.gov.uk/livetravelnews.

The interactive Tube map shows delays or planned works taking place, plus details of any ongoing work at stations.

Journey Planner - Find the quickest way to get from one place to another at any time at tfl.gov.uk.

Altering the search options will produce routes with the fewest changes or ones that take account of mobility requirements.

You can also get a walking or cycling route.
