Tinder Foundation: a new us!

As of yesterday, Monday 8 July, we have changed our organisational name from Online Centres Foundation to Tinder Foundation. The name reflects our ambitious three year strategy that will see us develop new products and new projects, and our focus on sustainability.

What does this mean for the network?

You probably won’t notice anything different. You’ll get in touch with the same people on the same phone number, the UK online centres website will look the same – as will Learn my way – and we’ll continue to provide all the things you’re used to, like training, marketing campaigns etc.

We mainly use the Online Centres Foundation name when talking to partners or writing funding bids, so this is where the change will mainly happen.

Why are you changing the name?

There are a few reasons! Online Centres Foundation was chosen very quickly, and if we’re honest – it’s a bit of a mouthful! People tend to get quite confused about the name, and we also don’t feel it reflects who we are anymore. As we develop new services – like Community How To – the name Online Centres Foundation doesn’t feel quite right.

Does this mean you don’t love us anymore?

Not at all – Managing the UK online centres network will always be the most important part of the work we do as an organisation, and the work we do is always done so we can continue supporting you.  Online Centres Foundation doesn’t reflect the work we’re doing around community action or community learning, Tinder Foundation gives us plenty of flexibility, so we can develop as the world does.

Along with the new name, we’ve also got a fantastic new website all about what we do – which includes the fantastic work your centre does! Take a look at the website here.
