HEFCE responds to BIS consultation on a regulatory framework for higher education

HEFCE has today published its response to government proposals to reform the way higher education is regulated.

Following the higher education White Paper, the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) published a technical consultation on a new, fit-for-purpose regulatory framework for higher education.

HEFCE's response to this consultation outlines our preliminary thinking on key themes and issues raised, and sets out in detail our position on the consultation questions.

We have also published a summary of the technical consultation itself, to highlight the proposals that most relate to HEFCE.
