Apply for your Zip Oyster photocard soon

Young Londoners are being reminded to apply for their 16+ Zip Oyster photocard as soon as possible to get free or discounted travel on public transport.

Existing photocards will expire on September 30 and the application process can take up to two weeks.

Zip Oyster photocard holders pay just half the adult pay as you go rate on bus, Tube, tram, Docklands Light Railway, London Overground and some National Rail services - providing a typical saving of £450 a year.

Youngsters who live in London and are in full-time education are also eligible for free travel on buses and trams.

The best and often quickest way to apply is online at tfl.gov.uk/photocard.

Application forms are also available at any London Post Office.

  • Discounted travel is available to all teenagers in London. To find out how to apply for an 11-15 Zip Oyster photocard or 18+ Student Oyster photocard visit tfl.gov.uk/tickets
