CBI comments on NHS procurement guidance

The CBI commented on the publication by the Department of Health of the report NHS Procurement: Raising our game.

Matthew Fell, CBI Director for Public Services, said:

“This report is a positive step towards improving NHS procurement efficiency and meeting ambitious targets for budget savings.

“The £1.2 billion potential savings highlighted in the report show what can be achieved when the NHS, businesses and NHS Supply Chain work together.

“Making savings through smarter procurement should be on the agenda of every NHS board in the country, and we look forward to the publication of the Government’s full strategy later in the year.”
