RSA signs deal for national coverage of OS VectorMap Local
Leading global insurer, RSA, yesterday announced an enhancement to its underwriting systems, after signing a deal with Ordnance Survey for its OS VectorMap Local digital mapping product.
RSA is the first commercial customer to take advantage of the benefits of OS VectorMap Local. By allowing users to completely customise the content and style of their mapping to suit their specific needs, OS VectorMap Local offers greater flexibility of use. It is the first in a new generation of digital mapping products from Great Britain’s national mapping agency.
Rob Osment, Technical Manager in the Geographic Risk Assessment Unit at RSA commented: "Adopting OS Vector Map Local will allow RSA to significantly improve its geographic analysis capability and help us to achieve new levels of accuracy.
“This new mapping will allow us to implement customised applications in support of our activities such as Risk Assessment, Accumulation Assessment and Major Incident Management. This will benefit both our customers and our business.”
Sarah Adams, Financial Services Sector Manager at Ordnance Survey, comments: “It’s great to see RSA taking the market leading position when it comes to using spatial analysis for risk assessment and accumulation of insurance policies.
“RSA and its customers will now benefit from the greater flexibility that OS VectorMap Local provides.”
