Scotland House has hosted over 80 events with at least 3,000 visitors including more than 500 business leaders and athletes and their families.
During a wide and varied programme of events – promoting Scotland as a place to visit, live, study and do business – Scotland House has reached out to people in countries including Australia, Malaysia, Japan and China.
Sports Minister Shona Robison said:
“The London 2012 Olympics have been memorable for all the right reasons and I am looking forward to the Paralympics. I’ve seen some great performances from Scottish athletes on their way to a record breaking medal-haul and I was pleased to welcome a number of them, including Katherine Grainger and David Carry to Scotland House.
“Scotland House has played host to over 80 events – ranging from business briefings for potential investors and networking receptions for business leaders to a showcase of Scottish food and drink and a fashion show to promote Scottish designers. It is good news that this wide and varied schedule has attracted more than 3,000 visitors.
“This includes more than 500 business leaders attending events designed to bring Scottish businesses together with potential investors in Scotland, making potentially lucrative introductions that will hopefully lead to new investment in the coming years.
“The eyes of the sporting world will now move towards Glasgow 2014. This will be another fantastic opportunity to showcase all that Scotland has to offer and I believe the inspiration of the Olympics followed by the Commonwealth Games will enhance Scotland’s reputation on the global stage, boost our economy and encourage a new generation to try their hand at different sports.”

Interest in buying tickets for Glasgow 2014 has doubled and more than 40 per cent of Scots say their experience of London 2012 has made them more excited about the prospect of sporting stars from 71 nations and territories competing in the Commonwealth Games in two years’ time.
