UKAS Accreditation: Supporting UK business in a post-Brexit world

Confidence in the safety and quality of goods and services bought and sold is an essential element of European and international trade. The mutual acceptance of test results and certificates plays an important part in building and maintaining this confidence. The United Kingdom Accreditation Service plays a key role in ensuring that the organisations carrying out testing, inspection and certification can be relied upon. It is vital that this confidence is maintained post-Brexit.

In order that the implications of Brexit for accreditation are fully understood, UKAS has prepared a leaflet setting out the key messages relating to accreditation and conformity assessment. The leaflet outlines the key actions required by Government departments and the public sector more generally to ensure that UK businesses can continue to trade effectively following the UK’s withdrawal from the EU.
