industry news Thursday 23 Aug 2018 @ 15:27 FIVE reasons landlords should attend Future Renting

Our Future Renting conference takes place on 13th September at Imperial College, Kensington in London.

Following the huge success of Future Renting North in April this year and Future Renting Wales last November, Future Renting is your chance to join hundreds of landlords, agents and other property professionals and hear all about the key issues that matter to your lettings.

The event is sponsored by Ideal Flatmate. Here are FIVE reasons why you should attend Future Renting

  1. Hear an update on the law. It feels like 2018 is a bumper year when it comes to law changes. From new MEES to changes to minimum room sizes for HMOs, all landlords need to be aware of the many different laws and how they will be affected by them. Housing lawyer at Anthony Gold and RLA Policy Director David Smith will deliver an update on the housing legislation that you need to be aware of.  And with the Government previously introducing civil penalties of up to £30,000 in the Housing and Planning Act 2016 for breaching various housing laws, can you really afford not to keep up to date with changes to the law?
  2. Meet other landlords. How does sharing your experiences of being a landlord over a cuppa with other people just like you sound? Our conference is the perfect way to meet others, network and share stories.
  3. Have your say. Some of our sessions are interactive, and you’ll have the opportunity to get the answers to the questions that you might have and learn more about how you are able to have your say in future on issues that matter and will affect you.
  4. Hear about what the future holds for the property market in the next few years Property insight expert Kate Faulkner will be giving us an insight into what is in store in the property market in the next few years. An experienced speaker, Kate delivered a highly engaging and popular session at our Future Renting North conference in April. Check out this video clip with her here.

  1. The high profile speakers. How could the Fitness for Human Habitation Bill impact you? And when are the fees that letting agents charge to tenants likely to be banned? This is your chance to hear from a panel of key influencers, including Karen Buck MP, (who tabled the Fitness for Human Habitation Bill ) and the Property Ombudsman Katrine Sporle CBE.
