industry news Tuesday 10 Mar 2020 @ 15:07 International Criminal Court – Reducing Risk whilst Processing Sensitive Data at High Speed

Based in The Hague, Netherlands, The International Criminal Court (ICC) investigates and tries individuals charged with the gravest crimes of concern to the international community: genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity and the crime of aggression.

The Challenge: The ICC produces and consumes vast amounts of sensitive information. Cases couldn’t be tried without witness statements, experts’ reports, maps, footage, photographs and other evidence. Outcomes—indictments, motions, submissions, decisions, and judgments—have to be recorded in judicial documents. These court records need to be stored securely, often for long periods of time, and be easily accessible to those who need—and are authorized—to use them.

Solution: Automatic Information Classification and Management - A satisfied long-term Records Manager customer, the ICC were keen to learn about ControlPoint and its ability to identify sensitive information and automatically classify data.

Through our meetings, we learnt about Control Point and could see it would help us understand and control our information. JONES LUKOSE, Head of Records and Archives Management International Criminal Court

Initial Outcomes:

  • Accelerate response to information requests, ensuring trials are not delayed
  • Elimination of risk from the proliferation of sensitive information
  • Safeguarding judicial records, ensuring security, retention, and accessibility
  • 30% of documents identified as redundant realising savings of approximately €150k
