industry news KOcycle receives King’s Award for Enterprise
Award strengthens company’s position as key partner for Public Sector organisations as ESG requirements move up agenda.

KOcycle has been awarded a King’s Award for Enterprise for Sustainability, strengthening its position as a key partner for UK Public Sector organistaions as ESG requirements move up the agenda.
The B Corp-certified IT lifecycle and asset disposition (ITAD) specialist is one of just 185 organisations recognised in 2026 with the award, acknowledging its zero-landfill commitment and digital inclusion initiative, KODI.
KOcycle’s services - spanning reuse, refurbishment and secure disposal - are designed to help partners embed circular economy principles into their offerings, enabling organisations to reduce both environmental impact and total cost of ownership.
Oli Mason, founder and managing director at KOcycle, said, “ This award is a true testament to the whole KOcycle team and our commitment to sustainability, social equity, environmental integrity and economic prosperity. I look back on our journey to this point with pride and look forward with excitement as we continue to work towards turning the world’s largest growing waste stream into a force for good ”
The award also highlights a broader shift in how ITAD is viewed within procurement and supply chain conversations.
KOcycle’s approach combines refurbishment and remarketing with material-level recycling, supporting both sustainability goals and long-term resource availability.
Mike McLellan, managing director at KOcycle (pictured), said, “ The King's Award for Enterprise is not just a reflection of what we've built as a business, but a powerful signal to our clients and partners that they are working with an organisation held to the very highest standards. In an industry where trust and accountability matter enormously, this award, alongside being a B Corp, gives confidence that KOcycle is credible, proven and the partner of choice for IT lifecycle services .”
Winning the King's Award for Enterprise in Sustainability is far more than a prestigious accolade for public sector teams, it is a powerful signal of trust, accountability, and transparency. KOcycle already works with some of the UK's largest NHS Trusts and government departments, and this recognition from the highest level of business achievement reinforces exactly what procurement teams and sustainability leads need when making supply chain decisions: independently verified evidence that their partner operates with integrity and to the highest environmental standards.
For public sector organisations navigating strict procurement criteria, ESG obligations, and scrutiny around social value, the King's Award provides the kind of external validation that removes doubt and simplifies the decision to partner with KOcycle. It transforms what might otherwise be a complex due diligence process into a confident, defensible choice — giving public sector teams the assurance that in choosing KOcycle, they are choosing a business recognised at the highest level for doing the right thing.
