AI, Automation, and Digital Transformation in the Public Sector
AI and automation are unlocking new possibilities for smarter, more efficient services. But despite the progress, there’s still a gap between digital transformation ambition and implementation, even the most forward-thinking departments.
Our latest research with over 200 senior IT decision makers across the UK’s local and central government reveals an enduring ‘digital deficit’ which is putting the £14bn efficiency drive at risk.
Key insights include:
- More than half (56%) of public sector organisations are now leading government-wide digital transformation initiatives – a 51% leap from last year
- Legacy systems, ethical and security concerns around AI and a lack of cohesive KPIs to measure success are seen as barriers
- Just under half (43%) haven’t trained employees on the new technologies and processes.
Read the full report to uncover where transformation is taking root, where organisations risk being held back by gaps in planning, engagement, and governance, and what practical steps can help close the gap for good.
