About Jisc Services Ltd
In an ever more collaborative public sector, staff need to connect to the internet and to resources at their home organisation, in multiple locations, using any device – whether they’re managers, members of the emergency services, or people in multidisciplinary teams. Govroam can make this happen seamlessly.
Your staff can access the govroam network provided by any participating organisation, using a single, securely-authenticated sign-on managed by your organisation – so they only need to log in once to ‘just connect’.
Meanwhile, visiting staff from other participating organisations can access your govroam-enabled guest network in the same way, using their own sign-on credentials, reducing the time you spend managing guest accounts.

Medway NHS Achieves Digital Transformation via Govroam
The public sector is dominated by a mobile workforce needing continuous access to online resources.
Jisc, the provider of digital services and solutions, is making this easier with its Govroam service, evolved from eduroam, the established Wi-Fi service used by the further and higher education and research sector, supporting and securing the roaming of 1.6m unique devices each month. Govroam offers zero touch access to connectivity via automatic login across all Govroam participating sites meaning staff can forcus on their jobs, rather than negotiating access.
By implementing one integrated secure network across all sites, IT support costs for visitors and data-roaming charges for staff moving between locations have also been significantly reduced, ensuring Medway NHS Foundation Trust has taken its first of many steps toward true digital transformation.
