ABOUT US
Top Class Computers has 30 years of experience in providing help and support with assistive software or hardware for people with a disability who use a computer.
The company was founded in 1993 by Neil Sleight, shortly after being made redundant! He had previously worked in the computer industry for 20 years, but became interested in software and equipment for children with a disability following the birth of his son James, who has Down’s Syndrome. (James is now doing well in supported living in Witney, after attending the excellent Derwen College in Shropshire).
Please use the contact form here to send us an email if you think we can help, or would like any advice.
Training is very important, particularly for voice recognition software because it can help to eliminate the use of both the keyboard and mouse, making a computer much easier to use. Our trainers are very patient and friendly, and we offer free support over the telephone if there are problems in the future.
We feel that our training is both comprehensive and good value, and we offer special rates for Access to Work!
Top Class Computers, from Witney, near Oxford, are experts in assistive technology software, with 30 years experience of providing assistive technology training, especially Dragon.
As well as carrying out AT training, we have published a Dragon training textbook and eLearning Solution.
Dragon eLearning Solution – a step-by-step guide for Dragon users with 3.5 hours of video and transcriptions; this includes some basic scripting
Advanced eLearning Solution – all of the above but more detail on scripting
Dragon eScripting Solution – for those who already know Dragon but need more information about scripting – this is especially useful for people with painful conditions such as RSI or arthritis
The courses are CPD certified and a certificate is available on completion. Complementary licences are available for assessors.
The course is used by over 250 staff at one of the largest police forces in the UK, where there aren’t enough training resources for face-to-face training. Some users do then have some face-to-face to reinforce knowledge.
The licence is perpetual and is available all the time. On the first three days of 2025, including the Saturday, over 800 modules were completed, equivalent to 40+ hours face-to-face training!
The course is a very cost effective way to train Dragon users and receives good feedback.
Please get in touch for more details!
