Fire Safety Consultancy

I joined Birmingham Fire and Ambulance Service (later to become West
Midlands Fire Service) in 1970. I retired from the WMFS in 2001, as an
Assistant Divisional Officer, having served about two thirds of that time in operations and one third in fire safety in inspecting and supervisory roles.

Between 1991 and 1994 I was seconded to the Fire Service College as a tutor in the Fire Safety School.

On my retirement from the Fire Service in 2001, I returned to the Fire Service College where, for four years, I headed the College’s Fire Safety
Consultancy section which carried out fire risk assessments in a wide variety of buildings.

Whilst at the College, I taught a wide range of fire safety subjects to UK and international fire officers and fire safety practitioners from commerce, industry and the public sector. I retired from the Fire Service College in 2011 after ten years but continue to be retained by them as an Associate Tutor.

JPB Pinney is a member of The Institute Of Fire Safety Managers and a graduate of the Institution of Fire Engineers he is also entered on the IFSM approved list of Fire Risk Assessors.
