You could save around £70 to £255 per year on your energy bills by having loft insulation installed correctly in your property. A large number of properties are below the current national standard for loft insulation and therefore spend additional amounts on their energy bills. IHI Ltd ensure each property reaches its maximum energy efficiency by installing the government's recommended 270mm minimum within homes. |
A large number of older properties that were originally built with a loft room or Room in Roof were not insulated at the time. Many loft rooms are therefore cold and difficult to heat due to the large areas where heat can escape. Room in roof insulation involves cutting insulation boards to the exact size of the roof rafters to perfectly fit in the space. The living space is usable even after install, however heat loss will be massively reduced resulting in more comfortable living in the rooms. Room In Roof Insulation is not visible, as it is added between the rafters behind walls or plasterboard. |

If your home was built before the 1920s, its external walls are probably solid walls rather than cavity walls. Solid walls have no gap, so they can't be filled with cavity wall insulation. However, solid walls can be insulated from the inside. IHI install internal wall insulation which involves fitting insulation on the inside of external walls, adding plasterboard and then plastering and decorating the walls that were treated. This will cost more than insulating a standard cavity wall, but the savings on your heating bills will be bigger too.

Numerous properties nationwide have a gas supply but no gas central heating. Some examples of this are properties with gas fires, gas cookers or gas multipoint but they don't have radiators in their homes. If your property currently does not have a gas supply then it may be eligible for an electric heating upgrade. IHI are able to secure funding to help you upgrade your current heating to High Heat Retention Storage Heaters. If you are currently using electric heating such as panel heaters then you may be eligible to install a new system.
