The UK Safety & Wellbeing Index The UK Safety & Wellbeing Index (UKSWI) is an index designed to measure the safety and well-being of individuals in the United Kingdom. The Index is developed and maintained by the Policy Exchange think-tank, in conjunction with the Centre for Social Justice. Since its launch in 2016, it has been used by policymakers, public servants, and academics to help them understand the nature and extent of the UK’s safety and well-being gaps. |
Why do we have risk assessments in the workplace? Risk assessments play an important role in the workplace by helping to reduce the number of accidents and incidents happening in the workplace. Risk assessments are the process of identifying potential risks, analyzing the likelihood of the associated impacts, determining controls and mitigating actions, and communicating the findings to stakeholders. |
How competent is your health and safety advisor? Managing health and safety in any organisation requires a certain level of expertise, and a qualified health and safety advisor is the obvious choice when it comes to handling such a responsibility. However, gauging the proficiency of a health and safety advisor can be tricky as it is an intangible quality and difficult to measure. |
