ABOUT US
Frank Partners is run by Anna Carus-Wilson and Neil Bett.
We are professional actors by training and background and have worked in Learning and Development for more than 25 years. We are also coaches and facilitators and use a blend of all three skills in our work.
We help people in organisations become self-aware, skilled and confident communicators, so that they can be their best selves and operate without fear or favour. The bedrock of our work is a belief that communication at its best is simple, authentic and connected. We believe that people who communicate with warmth and competence will develop relationships that are built on a high level of trust.
Our “secret sauce” is our ability to bring theories to life and interact with delegates, encouraging them to identify and change what they can. We are down to earth and practical. We use theories to support the learning process but do so lightly. We talk like human beings and avoid jargon. We value fun and laughter alongside the serious stuff – this helps people learn and creates an atmosphere of psychological safety.
Working collaboratively with our clients to design and deliver bespoke courses is key. This list of programmes is neither exclusive nor exhaustive, but a guide to help you understand our approach and range of programmes we deliver. If there is an area you would like us to work on which is not included, give us a call and we’ll help if we can.
Robust Conversations
How to have those tricky, awkward conversations (that you may have been avoiding) with colleagues in a way that is assertive, kind and clear, focusing on practice and feedback.
Presence and Impact
Using a variety of methods, we work with delegates to manage state, modulate the voice, choose words and use the body to achieve the best possible impact, so that people are communicating authentically and compellingly.
Presentation Skills
Developing the skills of presenting with impact, our focus includes connecting with your audience, managing nerves, being in control of your material and using PowerPoint effectively (if at all).
1:1 coaching
We are experienced, effective and qualified coaches. We have worked with people on a variety of issues, including developing personal impact, increasing empathy, managing stress, having courageous conversations and enhancing credibility.
Leadership
Leadership is an art that requires many delicate skills including clarity of purpose, empathy, flexibility, warmth, emotional intelligence, optimism, realism, an ability to connect and an ability to stand back. All these attributes are demonstrated through communication; we work with groups and individuals to develop the skills that underpin them.
Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
The case for increasing levels of diversity in the workforce is more compelling than ever. We raise awareness and facilitate discussion and debate by bringing issues of unconscious bias to life, so that delegates engage on an emotional, self-reflective and intellectual level.
Bullying & Harassment
Bullying and Harassment in the workplace can destroy confidence, reduce morale, and create a culture of fear and despondency. Some cases are clear, others more subtle. We teach the difference between bullying and harassment, bring lived experiences to life, offer engaging exercises and facilitate discussions to encourage delegates to reflect on their own and others’ behaviour.
Storytelling
We have been telling stories for thousands of years. We have been using tools like PowerPoint for 30 years. Leaders need to inspire, create narratives, and engage their people, not load them with information. We explore how to tell good stories and shape content, as well as creating opportunities to practice.
Neurodiversity
Raising awareness of the “big three” neurodiverse conditions – Dyslexia, ASD and ADHD, we use talking heads monologues to bring the lived experiences of those who are affected by these conditions to life. We also look more widely at the concept of “typical” and “diverse” traits.
Accountability
Being accountable, understanding the difference between intention and impact, and managing biases (conscious and unconscious), are all critical skills for an effective workforce. We raise awareness of your impact, as well as developing the skills needed to call it out in others.
Mediation
Relationships can break down. We facilitate critical conversations in a safe, kind, non-judgmental environment, giving both parties time and space to reflect.
Conference MC
We can provide an experienced and engaging anchor-person at conferences to add professional expertise to your event. We also coach presenters, enabling them to practice, speak with confidence and own the space.
Films
We make engaging, bespoke films that bring to life the training needs you wish to explore in an authentic way. We also have a suite of “Ready Made” training films on You Tube which are free to use. For more information on our film work, click the banner below.
