Venator Risk Management Limited (“VRM”) helps businesses grow and expand into the more challenging markets of the world by helping to mitigate and control the risks associated with such markets.

VRM provide Due Diligence, Collateral Management and  Stock Monitoring together with Supply Chain Verification and Traceability.

Established in the City of London, VRM help their clients expand in markets that otherwise might be considered too difficult because of the attendant risks. We mitigate and control the risks associated with doing business in the more difficult parts of the world.

VRM provides leading, independent and specialist risk management and assessment services in order to help clients expand both locally and globally.

We are able to offer long standing knowledge, specialist expertise and a global network that enables us to be your eyes and ears in the riskier parts of the world.

VRM embraces technology to assist mitigating risk, reduce human manipulation & mistakes, and ensure fast and reliable communications for quality control and risk reduction.

What We Do

We manage & mitigate the physical performance risks inherent in all emerging markets for any transactions involving movement of, or investment in, goods & equipment.

VRM provides independent and fully transparent investigative, reporting, and control services to ensure the sustainable supply chains and product traceability necessary to achieve the delivery of goods to their intended destination.

We visit, interview, observe, verify and report our findings and recommendations. We are not an inspection service, certification agency or logistics company. However, we will identify and find the right one for you. We will also supervise the whole process, from pre-transaction due diligence through to continuously monitoring logistic chains, assayers, warehouse keepers, front line management, transport and stock.

• Transaction pre-feasibility • Scoping • Due Diligence • Market Analysis • Collateral Management • Stock Monitoring • Supply Chain Monitoring • Verification of Aid Effectiveness

How We Do It

Pre-Transaction

We investigate all aspects of prospective transactions in riskier jurisdictions to provide scoping studies.

We operate in compliance with recognised international standards and best practices to provide a bespoke due diligence package for your needs.

Examples include:

  • Integrity of processing plant equipment and silos;
  • Logistics capacity (e.g. are there sufficient trucks?);
  • Work force standards;
  • Management skills and judged reliability;
  • H &S issues that may cause reputational damage;
  • Verification of customers, (are there existing business relationships?).

The Transaction

Once you have decided to go ahead with the transaction we manage and control all collateralised goods supporting your finance facility(s) from initiation & execution of the transaction to the point of sale and secure change of ownership.

We execute pre-transactional physical due diligence i.e. we inspect ports, roads, warehouses, etc., to ensure that they are fit for purpose.

We have teams on the ground supervised (and as necessary, trained) by our executives who have substantial experience of working in difficult environments.

We manage your physical collateral i.e. we will control movement of your goods to ensure their physical maintenance and security. Including but not limited to:

  • opening stock count;
  • stock movement/monitoring;
  • manage acceptance and release of goods; control of receipts and despatches;
  • ensuring quality and quantity is in line with contracted agreements;
  • closing stock;
  • verification of invoices;
  • collection account management.

Verification of Aid Effectiveness

VRM are able to provide governments and NGOs with accurate & independent audits of aid expenditure. Audits are performed at the intended delivery point of the aid.

We are not a review for government financial records, but we are an accurate reporting organisation for how funding is spent at the end of the distribution chain.

Our auditors will observe and report, not comment or correct (e.g. how many water pumps arrived, did they work, how many villages now have potable water).

We are able to design unique and cost effective audits to ensure that aid reaches the intended recipients.

Sustainable and ethical supply chain monitoring & management

With growing demands for greater transparency, there are growing voluntary and regulatory obligations for social compliance in supply chain management and traceability, with particular focus on monitoring and managing supply chain sustainability and conflict risks. Responding effectively to these concerns is a challenge for many companies. VRM are here to ensure ethical and sustainable practices that are verifiable and reliable.

We will engage with suppliers to provide independent and transparent reporting and product traceability verification, together with social and ecological exposures.

We monitor systems for operational and logistics plans in line with existing codes and standards.

Robust Operational Procedures Complimented by Smart Technology

VRM embraces technology to assist the mitigation of risk, decrease human manipulation & mistakes, and ensure fast and reliable communications for quality control and risk reduction.

New disruptive technologies have the potential for significant savings (e.g. reduced labour costs, reduced manual and semi- automated processes, reduced capital costs through faster settlements and reduced technology costs through reducing the dependency on multiple systems).

VRM are ready to integrate with such technology ecosystems that provide efficiencies through the transaction life cycle and we ensure that the security of the transaction is not compromised.

Our collateral management and supply chain monitoring services are designed to integrate with established and emerging technologies including IOT, ERP, ML, DLT, SCM, and Data Analytics, together with other automated smart technologies of now and the future.
