Partner Profile of Ian Henderson Ian Henderson is an inspirational independent IT Leader (CIO/CTO/IT/Programme Director/Consultant) with a substantial track record of implementing Change & Transformation Programmes (£1M to £100M) across both the Private (Amtrak, Wilson Connolly, E.commerCell (Caudwell Group)) and Public (Royal Borough of Greenwich, Aston University, Central Sussex Shared Services (CenSus)) sectors within “Start Up”, “Mergers & Acquisitions”, “Turnaround” “Business Change” and “Business-As-Usual” situations. |
A passionate and committed CIO/CTO/IT/Programme Director/Consultant, Ian has over 15 years of successful consultancy and contract/interim assignments. He is customer service orientated and objective delivery focused with a passion and deep understanding of all online digital and app development business space.
Ian is a genuine “Big-Hitter” who has a justified reputation for being a true “IT Transformational Leader” and a leading member of the Independent IT Leaders community. He is a visionary IT Strategist who develops and delivers his own strategy equally as well as he does delivering and adapting those initiated by others in the light of technology changes.
Ian is a tried, tested and proven leader who has demonstrated expertise in managing technical teams from 1 to 100+ through challenging transformational times. He quickly establishes trust with his teams, is known for having a “Can Do” attitude, and for mentoring/developing staff. He acts as the interface between technical and business teams using language understandable by all. Experienced in the production of business cases and/or Reports for Committees etc., he is known to under promise and over deliver. He is a passionate advocate for all things security including application security and the protection of personal/corporate data.
Ian is an expert in delivering Portfolios, Programmes and Projects both on time and to budget, even in situations in which he is completing programmes commenced by others and whose funding has already been spent (such as during a 4K Device/66 locations multi-year IT transformation programme). He is an experienced negotiator who delivers a ROI on IT investments and uses technology to improve business processes and reduce costs. He has a track record of identifying and reducing IT costs as a proportion of turnover.
Ian is experienced in delivering Digital, Development and Transformation Portfolios, Programmes and Projects working with Out-sourced, In-House, or any combination of resources. He excels at quickly analysing, assessing and reviewing IT situations (particularly upon arrival) and identifying and delivering quick wins.
Ian is a Practitioner of both MSP and Prince 2 and qualified at Foundation level in V3 of ITIL. He is a SFIA accredited consultant; an Associate of the IISP and is Enterprise Architect trained (TOGAF9).
