Welcome to Groundwork Landscapes Ltd
The company was founded in November 1977 by Peter and Michele Richardson. The aims of the company were to carry out landscape works primarily for local authorities and public bodies.
In the first year, the turnover was £75,000. This has grown steadily year on year and reached £1 million within 5 years and then £2 million within 10 years and has remained steady at 5 million for the last 10 years.
As the company has grown, so has the scope of the works. From smaller construction contracts we now deal with contracts exceeding £2m in valuation. We complete projects across the whole spectrum of the construction industry and the skills of our forty strong workforce enable us to meet the criteria our clients set out.
Our client base consists of the ten local authorities in the Greater Manchester Conurbation, plus some of the outer lying areas such as Kirklees, Calderdale and Lancashire.
We also carry out projects, large and small for the Groundwork foundations in the area.
One of our main client bases is also housing associations; we are currently engaged in contracts for One Manchester, Rochdale Boroughwide Housing, Six Town Housing, Southways, Stockport Homes, and The Guinness Partnership along with several others.
Our recent experience includes management of the Mount Road Estate valued at £2.56m and Wilmslow Road Estate valued at £1.98m, which we have recently completed for the Eastland Homes Partnership Ltd to great success. We are also currently working on the One Manchester Highways Contract for One Manchester.
We do however, undertake small projects also and pride ourselves in the fact that the local authorities can rely on the company whatever the value of the works.
We have several accreditations relevant to our industry such as SMAS;CHAS Constructionline; ISO 9001; ISO 14001; HTA; ICO.APL and we are an accredited Real Living Wage Employer.
