Formed in February 2011, Aquarius Water Solutions Limited specialise in providing an array of water- related services designed to offer clients a comprehensive solution to their water hygiene and water treatment needs. We have a wealth of experience within water hygiene contracts, chlorination’s, flushing and chemical cleaning of LTHW and CHW pipework, sampling of new and existing systems in London and the South East.
Since it’s inception, Aquarius have grown to become a valuable resource for fit-out and mechanical installation contractors. The senior management team have been involved in a number of successful projects across prestigious landmark buildings and iconic developments. In addition, they have partnered with several mechanical contractors to ensure their primary objectives of delivering projects on-time and to budget are achieved.

Aquarius’ aims to provide duty holders with peace of mind that they are fully-compliant in their responsibility of controlling the risk of Legionella bacteria in the water systems they manage.

Our ongoing dedication to quality has led us to become a certified member of the Legionella Control Association. We are members of BSRIA and are Safecontractor-approved. All key staff are members of the Water Management Society – this helps to ensure they are qualified to undertake the work proficiently and in accordance with current industry standards and guidelines.

Water Treatment

The treatment of water in modern closed heating and cooling systems is essential for the avoidance of microbiological fouling, corrosion and scale. These problems can result in energy wastage, poor system performance, and the need for early replacement of plant and components.
System contaminants such as mill scale, jointing compound and building debris will inevitably be found in newly-fabricated heating and cooling pipework systems . If allowed to remain in the system in sufficient quantity, these contaminants will make the system prone to blockage at strainers, control valves and small bore heat exchangers. They may also initiate corrosion and encourage the growth of micro-organisms.

Pre-commission cleaning is achieved through a process of flushing and chemical cleaning (where required) followed by the addition of Biocides and Inhibitors to protect the system after the cleaning process.

We offer a wide range of services, which conform with all current standards and regulations. These include:

• Pre-commission Chemical Cleaning of Closed Circuit systems to the requirements of BSRIA BG 29/2021
• Scheduled Closed System Water Quality Maintenance, and treatment programs designed to maximise the life expectancy of plant and system components as recommended by BSRIA BG/50:2021
• Closed system regeneration or remedial works, and control procedures designed to restore operation to systems which are experiencing operational issues or suffering from poor performance and ultimately higher energy costs for plant operation.
• Validation Sampling of Closed Water Systems in accordance with BS.8552:2012
• Water Treatment Chemicals such as Corrosion Inhibitors, Biocides, Cleaning Chemicals, and disinfectants.
• Acid cleaning of water systems including Boilers, Condensers, Calorifiers and Cooling Towers.

 Water Hygiene

Cleanliness, water quality and microbiological control are essential factors in the safe operation of engineered water systems. As specialists in the field of water hygiene, we provide not only traditional methods of monitoring, cleaning, disinfection and refurbishment of domestic and process water systems, but also innovative control systems.

All systems and practices are designed to meet specific site requirements for industrial, commercial, leisure and health care premises. All working methods and control systems comply with the latest codes of practice and specifications.

We carry out a wide range of services conforming to current standards and regulations. These include:

• Design Fully Compliant Water Hygiene programs to control the risk of Legionella within water systems. We can ensure that the entire monthly, quarterly, six-monthly and annual responsibilities are met and recorded, or audit records if tasks are being carried by other responsible people.
• Legionella Risk Assessments and Legionella Control as directed by the Health & Safety Publication “Legionnaires’ Disease – The Control of Legionella Bacteria in Water Systems” Approved Code of Practice (L8) and BS.8580-1:2019
• Disinfection of Storage Cisterns and Water Systems in accordance with HSE & British Standards specifications i.e. ACOPL8/HSG (274) part 2. & PD.855468:2015.
• Disinfection of New or extensions of Domestic Water Systems to BS.8558 / PD.855468:2015
• Sampling for Legionella Bacteria in Water Systems BS7592:2022
• Sampling of Domestic Hot & Cold Water Systems in accordance with BS8554:2015

All commissioning works are carried out in accordance with CIBSE Commissioning Codes A & W, and all relevant BSRIA Guidelines.
