​IG Solutions is Leeds City Council's dedicated team of information governance professionals with over 20 years of experience delivering Information Governance in the public, private and third sector.

We have expertise in records management, information security, information sharing and compliance to information legislation and regulatory frameworks. We are responsible for meeting the statutory information governance requirements of over 15,000 staff across the council and its 99 Elected Members.

eLearning for Councillors / Elected Members

An interactive tool specifically designed to help Elected Members understand the importance of information management and explain the necessary steps to handle information safely and responsibly.  The Elected members' eLearning is broken down into 6 modules and a quiz. Each module covers a key piece of Information governance through a mix of scenarios, questions and updates. Also, as you will be aware legislation has recently changed and reinforced (DPA and GDPR), and not everyone is aware of the changes and how it affects them. Our eLearning tool covers common issues like dealing with consent, the rights of individuals and what aspects of the law apply to Elected Members when they are acting as data controllers.

Covering a whole range of situations from Data Transfers outside the EEA and Marketing to CCTV, Tackling Cybercrime and Remote Working, this SME E-Learning places your staff at the heart of data protection.

Written in plain English and including a final quiz to test knowledge and learning, the tool can be used to demonstrate compliance with Data Protection legislation as outlined by the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

 

IG e-Learning for Schools: This e-learning course on managing information in schools will help you understand why managing information is so important, and explain what you need to do to handle information responsibly and safely.
