About Us

We set up Clearsilver Brand Marketing in 2006, having spent our early careers with UK Top 50 agencies, building some of the world’s best-known FMCG, pet care, and other consumer brands.

As a full-service marketing agency based in Leeds, we work with clients in a broad range of sectors throughout the UK and Europe.

We have particular expertise working with local councils and government bodies in a number of sectors including Nursery, Primary and Secondary Education, Libraries, Healthcare and the NHS, Recycling and the Environment and can supply examples of successful projects across each of these disciplines.

Case Studies

Yorkshire Sport Foundation

Yorkshire Sport Foundation believe in the power of sport and physical activity to change people’s lives.

Brief

West Yorkshire Sport and South Yorkshire Sport required a new brand identity and website for the newly formed Yorkshire Sport Foundation. The identity needed to embody the organisation's vision and values and engage with their target audience.

Strategy

The West Yorkshire Sport and South Yorkshire Sport logos are captured in the all new Yorkshire Sport Foundation branding. The formation of the triangles in the logo recognises each of the three sports bodies.

This formation is not only symbolic of the unification but its combination subtly forms the letter ‘Y’ for Yorkshire, the unifying element for both the old and new brands.

Results

Clearsilver’s creative team designed a new suite of logos and produced a comprehensive set of brand guidelines to ensure consistency and clarity across all materials.

The guidelines outline how and where certain logos should appear, use of photography, colours, fonts and how the brand icon can be used in isolation or as a watermark.

We also produced a set of branded stationery, event invitations and programme for the brand launch event as well as a completely new, fully responsive website.

 

Change4Life

The NHS Change4Life ‘Eat well, Move more, Live longer’ campaign promotes healthy eating and exercise.

Brief

As part of our ongoing work for Change4Life, Clearsilver was briefed to design and print a range of fun activities and games for use in primary schools as interactive ways of educating children about the benefits of healthy eating, regular exercise and drinking non-sugary drinks.

Strategy

Using the instantly recognisable plasticine characters, Clearsilver executed complex design and print techniques to provide hard-wearing activity kits to school children around the region.

‘Fun day’ kits to support broad Change4Life national initiatives were created including Sugar Swaps, Me Size Meals, Play Your Calories Right, and Up and About.

Results

Roll out across schools in the region has been incredibly successful in educating young children and their parents about the benefits of healthy eating and regular exercise.

 
 

Leeds City Council - One Adoption

Yorkshire & Humber’s regional adoption agency, One Adoption, provides the highest level of support at all stages of the adoption process.

Brief

Leeds City Council’s adoption service required a new, fresh and innovative brand identity. This involved the creation and development of brand collateral for the overarching body, as well as each of the regional agencies, to complement the whole of Yorkshire and the Humber.

Strategy

Clearsilver’s strategic approach began with stakeholder and consumer research across each of the regional bodies; evaluating service delivery and the views and aspirations of both current and potential adoptive parents.

We worked closely with the team at Leeds City Council to understand their requirements. They needed an identity that would work across the board and be accessible for the target audience; local families living in Yorkshire.

Clearsilver created and developed ‘One Adoption’, which unites the delivery of adoption services and support throughout Yorkshire and the Humber and allows them to be viewed as ‘one’.

By using different colours to represent each part of Yorkshire; pink for West Yorkshire and blue for North Yorkshire and the Humber, we gave each regional team ‘ownership’ of the One Adoption brand identity.

This way, each region can be differentiated, whilst the overarching provider – One Adoption – remains consistent.

Results

Following completion of the brand identity we then produced 80 individual design-for-print assets providing information to inform and support parents and families at every stage of their adoption journey; including folders, booklets and posters to pens and lanyards.

Leeds Libraries

#What’s Your Story – Our award-winning campaign for Leeds City Council’s Leeds Libraries

Brief

Leeds City Council tasked Clearsilver with developing and executing a creative campaign to raise awareness of the services available throughout Leeds Libraries, drive online and social engagement, and increase downloads of the Leeds Libraries app.

Strategy

We created #whatsyourstory, a community-led advertising, social and PR campaign featuring real-life stories of inspirational library members at its core.

We implemented an outdoor media campaign, as well as designing a portfolio of on and offline collateral. We contacted all relevant, local media in the execution of a Leeds-specific PR strategy and handled the Libraries’ social feeds during the time of launch.

Clearsilver also delivered bespoke training to the team at Leeds Libraries, enabling successful handover of the social media strategy post-launch.

Results

The campaign was a winner! Leeds City Council and Clearsilver won the Best Creative Comms campaign at the Comms2Point0 Unawards in December 2015.

We secured comprehensive coverage across print, web and broadcast media, and significantly raised levels of social engagement within Leeds Libraries’ target audience. Initial responses show increased positive sentiment around the city, successfully bringing Leeds Libraries to the attention of new demographics and potential library members.
