About Us

Despite well publicised health risks and comprehensive legislation covering the management, removal and disposal of asbestos, the problem of asbestos in the workplace remains.

Adams Environmental has been proudly delivering high quality asbestos consultancy for over 30 years. We specialise in asbestos consultancy, training, surveying and testing, with a comprehensive service wrap to ensure that we meet and exceed client expectations. Having worked in some of the world’s most iconic buildings and with many high profile public and private sector businesses, we know that a trusted partner is of utmost importance to our clients – a reason why we achieve longevity with many of them. With a combination of existing skills and experience, we believe that we offer the very best asbestos consultancy in the south east and beyond.

As a forward thinking business, we are constantly evolving in order to continue to deliver the service and expertise that we have become synonymous with. Consistency is achieved through Project Managers remaining as the client contact throughout a project period, providing on-going support and guidance. Our solutions also give due consideration to legislation and to the client’s requirements and budgetary constraints.

Our asbestos management services include re-inspection, management, refurbishment and pre-demolition surveys to Inspection Body standard, conforming to ISO 17020:2012. Testing services include materials analysis, air quality measurement and Four Stage Clearance procedures, conforming to ISO 17025:2005.

We also offer training services, such as general asbestos awareness seminars and client focused events, and provision of client-specific Asbestos Management Plans (AMPs). AMPs have been legally required since May 2004 for all commercial and non-domestic premises. They document how an organisation will prevent or reduce potential exposure to risks from asbestos containing materials. An AMP generally makes reference to a survey, whether completed or in progress, the responsibilities of premises controllers, occupants and visitors, and the mechanisms by which exposure will be prevented.

Health & Safety

Regulations

An increase in regulations governing the control of the working environment has combined with increased public awareness of health and safety issues. The Health & Safety at Work etc. Act, COSHH and the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations are key documents providing a legal framework for health and safety but there is frequently a need for specialist input and knowledge. Adams Environmental offers a range of services to enable compliance with legislation and the achievement of an efficient and healthy workplace.

Indoor Air Quality

Office air includes material generated by internal and external sources. Its constituents include dusts and microbial life, as well as components such as fibres and gases derived from the building materials, fabrics and occupants. We can monitor to determine whether health and work is likely to be affected by these airborne contaminants. Ventilation plant and air conditioning systems can play a major role in the elimination of these materials. We can inspect and report on the effectiveness of these systems.

Sick Building Syndrome

Personal comfort and health are essential parameters influencing staff satisfaction and productivity. We can investigate the workplace for air quality, noise levels, microbiological content, light distribution, etc, and report on any potential problem areas.

Occupational Hygiene, Safety & Health

The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations requires assessments of workers’ exposure to hazardous substances to be undertaken by a competent person. The complexity of the task warrants the support of specialist companies, experienced in occupational hygiene. Adams Environmental’s qualified personnel can help in the assessment of such risks. Our reports can give practical advice, to enable the client to meet the requirements of the legislation.

Exhaust Ventilation Testing, Dust & Fume Monitoring

Adams Environmental can carry out a range of services to test local exhaust ventilation and to monitor for dust and fumes.
