About Bidfood

We are a national wholesale distributor covering England, Scotland and Wales. We have 22 depots across the country servicing our customers all that they need to run a successful food service operation – from schools and care homes, to high street restaurants.

It is our vision to be the best food service provider and our mission to deliver service excellence, make life easier and help our customers to grow. This is underpinned by our 5 key ingredients:

Alongside our core ambient, frozen and chilled products, we’ve a range of, meat, fish, BWS (Beers, Wines, and Spirits), catering equipment and non-food items.

We have over 13,000 products in our range and work with a plethora of suppliers, from local SMEs to big name brands. We firmly believe in giving our customers choice in the products they buy from us.

We can offer an assortment of certified products, including: Red Tractor, MSC, Fairtrade, Rainforest Alliance or Food for Life – to name a few!

What’s more, we can deliver all our goods on one vehicle as we have the capability to consolidate ambient, frozen and chilled goods, as well as non food items.


Support to public bodies

We work with a number of different public bodies and are experienced in the nuances of such customers. For example, our work with local councils has given us an insight into the requirements and challenges of catering in a school environment and a care home setting.

As such, we can offer product ranges to suit both of these environments and more.

We also work alongside the prison service, demonstrating our ability to flex our business to a very different foodservice requirement that includes enhanced security and strict contract and budget planning.

Hand in hand with our public body work, is understanding the importance of SMEs. We work hard to support SMEs across the country, recognising their importance in the UK economy and the governments agenda. We currently have over 500 SMEs that work with us so understand that they need a different level of support from us. As such, we have created a flexible system for accreditation, supply chain and payment terms.

Our Accreditations

Environmental management

We were the first food distribution company in the UK to hold the ISO 14001 Environmental Management accreditation for all of our depots and offices, which we have held since 2003. This accreditation demonstrates both legal compliance and a commitment to pollution and contamination control showing that we set ourselves objectives and targets.

Greenhouse gases

We are verified to ISO 14064-1 standards for the management of greenhouse gases. ISO 14064 is an international standard that provides a framework for organisations to quantify and report on greenhouse gas emissions and removals.

Health & safety

We were the first company in our industry sector to obtain BS 18001, which we achieved in 2010 for all our depots. This accreditation demonstrates that we have made a commitment to the continual welfare of all our employees and is an independent verification of our commitment to Health and Safety.

Quality assurance

We are pleased to confirm that our Quality Management Systems, in connection with the storage, handling and transportation of food and non food products, are approved to the ISO 9001 standard.

In addition, we have also achieved BRC accreditation for Storage and Distribution at all of our foodservice depots and we are the first company to have achieved this in our industry sector.


Our sustainability reports are verified by Lucideon CICS Limited who provide a third party guarantee that text, data and information in our company sustainability reports are true and accurate.



The Planet Mark sustainability certificate

We were awarded the Planet Mark Sustainability Certificate in April 2015 and are the first food distribution company in the UK to have this certification. The certificate recognises our continuous commitment to sustainability by measuring and reducing our carbon footprint.

We are also collaborating with Planet First to help our customers achieve the mark too, including the development of free guidance documents for our sustainability website.
