A gem in Derbyshire’s cultural crown

A dynamic collection of artists, makers and designers are heading to Derbyshire this weekend as Chatsworth Arts Festival returns for its fifth edition.

The weekend of performance, music, design, painting, sculpture, ceramics, dance, animation, photography and writing runs from Friday 20 to Sunday 22 September at the Peak District home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire.

The festival is supported through Arts Council’s National Lottery Project Grants and will feature more than 25 artists, including Ben Long, who will be giving a talk in the shadow of his eight-metre high Dog Scaffolding Sculpture, which overlooks the festival site.

Chatsworth was one of the arts and cultural organisations who joined forces with local tourism partners to create a package which took visitors on a contemporary ‘Grand Tour’ of Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire’s cultural history and landscape.

Peter Knott, Area Director for Arts Council England, said:
