APM responds to Spending Review 2020

APM has responded to the government's Spending Review and launch of a new National Infrastructure Strategy on 25 November.

Debbie Dore, chief executive of APM yesterday said:

We hope today’s announcement will provide the long term pipeline of infrastructure and other strategic projects needed to turbo-charge recovery and a sustained future pathway for successful delivery.

As the Chancellor said, "projects must have real impact." We agree, but this commitment must be backed by investment in the skillsets and training essential to underpin this.  Greater investment as well as focus on project professionalism will be required to support the proper inception, delivery and completion of projects both now and in the future.”

In advance of the Spending Review, APM set out four suggested building blocks to underpin a sustained programme to reset the economy and recover from the impact of COVID-19.
